These folks are terrific.  Our front-door and side-door locks were jammed.  We called a couple of places, based upon the reviews in yelp.  One highly-rated locksmith doesn’t provide service in Upper Northwest D.C.; another highly-rated competitor only offered a voice mail, and then didn’t return my message for six days.  In the meantime, I called District Locksmith, which sent out a highly competent, cheerful, and knowledgeable young man by the name of John who promptly diagnosed the problem and instead of charging us to install new locks, he simply cleaned and refurbished the existing locks on our two doors at a very reasonable price, taking no more than an hour or so to acquaint himself with our problem and to solve it.  I could not have been more impressed or pleased.

One of the best service provider recommendation’s I ever received came from a peer in the residential property management business several years ago.  When I called looking for suggestions of a new locksmith that could service not just the property I managed in the District of Columbia, but those I had in Virginia and Maryland as well, I was told to contact District Lock. They have been my locksmith of choice ever since; handling both the residential and commercial properties needs as they arise.  It could be as easy as a lock out, the re-keying of a lock cylinder, the changing of the lockset, or even the planning of a new master system for a property.  No job was ever too big or too small. An added benefit is that their technicians, office employes and ownership  are always friendly and prompt in handling my needs and a pleasure to deal with.  I am only sorry that I did not learn of them earlier than I did

I have worked with District Lock, and more specifically John for about 10 years and would not ever use anyone else. Since I work in Property Management with a number of rental properties and condos, I always need locks changed, replaced, repaired, etc, but no matter what I ask him to do, he always figures out a way to get it done, and at a reasonable price. Even when one of my workers, had locked the keys for the entire condo building in one unit, John was able to get the door unlocked with no damage and retrieve the keys, and do it in a timely manner. In my opinion, there is no better locksmith in DC. He is the best.
